A comprehensive mold inspection includes a visual inspection for obvious signs of mold growth and water staining. The inspection may include moisture detection with either a FLIR Thermal Imaging Camera or a moisture meter. Humidity readings are taken in some circumstances as well. Generally we will inspect the area of concern but will be happy to inspect the remainder of the building upon request.
After the inspection is completed a report will follow. We provide two types of reports:
1) In the event that we do not find visible mold, or the mold is affecting only a minimal area, as prescribed by EPA guidelines, we will issue a report that indicates no professional remediation is required. The report will include recommendations for future mold prevention such as methods of moisture control and ventilation.
2) In the event that visible mold is found, the report will state our assessment of the extent of contamination; summarize the results of air sampling; identify the cause and origin or the mold; recommend action for preventing future mold growth, and a proposal for the most appropriate and cost-effective method of remediation of the existing problem. The proposal includes pricing and an estimated time frame for completion of the work. A cost breakdown may be furnished upon request.
